Bouton Ideation

Announcing ... Bouton Ideation

I am most pleased to announce that after 40 years of effort we are ready to go ‘on record’ with Bouton Ideation, or BI for short.  This means we are ready to describe how a human mind is built by symbolic experience, within the neuronal structures of the brain/mind organ.  This means my “philosophy of information processing, as it relates to business,” the initial college quest, can now be shorten to saying BI.  The value: knowing how boutons ideate can make any person smarter.


Before I do go ‘on the record,’ let me first offer honest gratitude to Dr. Mark A. Smith for his work back in 1997, in 2002 and his most dedicated accomplishments of the past year (2012). A project of such magnitude, any new and really valuable insight, cannot be accomplished alone. I consider Dr. Smith to be an active co-author of the BI thesis. He is my partner. I am proud of this association.

BI was intuited by me years ago, and became clearer (more mechanical) in 2006 with the quantum nature of consciousness.  However, Dr. Smith, through his steadfast commitment to the precise scientific process has made it much more real.  Without Mark’s unselfish and lifelong commitment to Corporate Construct Theory, Idea Field Theory, and creative work on Bouton Ideation; this announcement would not be made today, and our world would suffer.

What is the announcement?  Simply, if you link Kant’s “thing in itself” with Cajals “synaptic bouton” and the quantized and materially formative energy physics of “Quantum Mechanics” then a coherent theory of human mental development can be hypothesized, tested, and validated.  A science of ideas emerges.  That science is called Cognitive Science.

We name that theory Bouton Ideation (BI) because the boutons are the mind pixels, which are ideated.  Boutons are the physical bits of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom forms which we consciously see in all minds.  They form a community of ideas that collaborate, built for your life.

What is a bouton?

Bouton Ideation has two parts.  It is physical (the bouton) and an idealized form (the ideation).  The bouton is the physical part of the BI theory.
Sensation energy-waves harmonize and collapse, creating synaptic boutons, as physical growths, using the E=MC2 mathematical relationship.  In growing by consuming energy (a laminin molecular function), the boutons close the synapse, wiring up cortical circuits, causing conscious thoughts and behaviors.


To commercialize the BI discovery, Mark and I have formed a company called Boutonics, Inc. (www.boutonics.com).  It is the atomics of boutonology.  That is, it is the practical application of this Cognitive Science.  We find it very useful to emphasis this atom-to-bouton analogy.  Both ideas and things are assembled and destroyed.

What an atom is to chemistry and physics, the bouton is now to education and psychology.  The bouton is the basic unit of thought, the atom of ideation.

Boutons are used to sense and store data events.  These data events are correlated into information, so we know what worked in the past.  That information is transferred to future knowledge: know how.  Finally, over time the data-information-knowledge linkage becomes more abstract wisdom: judging what to do.  In Boutonics™ we abbreviate this data-information-knowledge-wisdom linkage as Dikw.

Hebb, Eccles, Kandel, Deines, and Smith have all built upon Cajal’s pioneering work.  A bouton is a real thing that grows in the synapse, changing idea conductivity.  This means each bouton is a bit of mind.  Or said another way, in modern computer parlance, a bouton is a mind-pixel.

Why Quantum Mechanics

Newton created Classical Mechanics, Einstein Special and General Relativity, and a group of scientist developed Quantum Mechanics (circa 1925), starting with Heisenberg’s Uncertainty.  Affect Mechanics, a new insight, is coming out of Cosmology (Dark Matter and Dark Energy are affective) and to help explain the bouton energy tropic movement in Cognitive Science (the affects of intelligent Opportunity).

Classical Mechanics (CM) is push.  It measures energy forces that effect all thing-vector movement, in formative, material spacetime.  These rules do not apply to the small mass things like photons and electron particle/waves.  At the atomic level, Quantum Mechanics (QM) measures and predicts the probability of energy coming into atomic forms.


Yet, QM is not complete.  As Einstein stated, after publishing one of his 1905 papers commonly name “The Photoelectric Effect,” that his equations were not complete.  They did not model, predict, and account for the direction that the electron left the material.  In a relativistic frame, direction of energy movement is additional energy (Doppler effect).  Einstein argued his whole life about the incompleteness of QM, with Bohr and Heisenberg (to name a few), and summarized his thought in the EPR paper, while at Princeton.  This energy became known as “spooky action at a distance.”

Where CM is material push and QM is probable becoming, Affect Mechanics (AM) is emerging to explain the energy impact of formative context.  The electron leaves and decides to move in the direction of least resistance.  Where Einstein, in the Photoelectric Effect, is measuring the local factors, there is a global factor at work.  There is a photoelectric affect.  It is these global factors that human intelligence can discern.

Why Quantum Mechanics?  Why must you have a full understanding of QM to be a Cognitive Scientists?  Boutons are affected by four directional forces, they are quadrated.  Why is this?  Boutons are real and all real things are quadrated.  QM is the most tested scientific theory ever and it says all real things are quad force affected.

This means that ideas, the thinking process itself is accomplished in quads.  Or said another way: if you can identify your ideas, about an ideal, and place into the quad form, then intellect will advance.

Let’s say this in computer terms.  Computers use a binary bit and are 2-tuple: on and off.  The mind is smarter; it uses 4-tuple simultaneous structures, called a qubit.  This means the human mind is a Quantum Computer.

That is why you must learn and integrate Quantum Mechanical mathematics to understand the nature of mind, and its intelligent decision making process.  It is also why the physics must be placed into and related to the ideological sciences: like information theory, psychology, philosophy and practical anthropology.

Emanuel Kant and the thing in itself

Type “Cognitive Science” into Google and select the Wikipedia entry.  This will give you a brief introduction to this relative new science.

One of the first things to notice is that Cognition is an eclectic science.  That means it integrated discoveries from many scientific sources.  One is philosophy.  Kant was a very good philosopher.

Kant’s major work came late in his life (he was in his 50’s) because philosophy is a wise science and wisdom takes a few years to acquire.  In the ‘Critique of Pure Reason” Kant attempts to answer the Empiricist vs. Realist argument, then raging in the European philosophical circles.  Is the empirical, a posterior, or reason, a priory, more real?  Which of these (the physical reality ‘that is’ or the potential reality ‘that can be’ consciously perceived) is more fundamental to knowing.

Kant successfully argued that both perspectives are useful and influential upon what is and can be known. Or said in ancient language, there is a heaven (ideological) and earth (physical).

In this work, Kant introduces the ideas of the (1) thing, in and of itself, and (2) our mental perception of the thing.  Kant states and then proves that these are two different things.  The thing is real and our perception of the thing is a symbolic image, carried on an energy wave.

Kant had little to say about the electromagnetic nature of that symbol and its carrier wave, which is perceived and processed by bouton developments.  We moderns have added this insight.

Why is this insight imperative for the cognitive scientist?  If you do not understand that an idea, a piece of data, is only a symbol carried on an energy wave, then you are not understanding that idea forms are really just energy density variation, in framed spacetime.

This is a key insight.  All reality is “virtual” as it relates to cognition.  The mind never has a direct relationship with the thing “in and of itself.”  Instead, we sense, learn, store, and act upon the symbolic representation of the thing, as we observe and interpret its meaning.  Observation is affective.

Or said another way, Al Gore did not invent the Internet, Kant did.

Summary

Today we are announcing Bouton Ideation, BI.  It is a theory of mind existence, in bouton pixels, based on symbolic processing.  BI states that brain is the neurons (mainly) and mind is the boutons (mainly). 
Brain is nature, put in place by DNA and mind is nurture, ideated into existence: hence Bouton Ideation.

With this insight, each person can learn how to craft and refine the mind, to their design.  With this insight, each person can consciously create themselves anew.

That personal mental power is our goal.  Enjoy that power.

In like manner, the bouton is not the only influential force affecting mind sensing, storage, cognition, and decision making.  The neurons are affective, opportunity for life is affective, different regions of the brain are affective, molecules called laminins are affective.  According to Einstein, there is even a morphogenesis, a “Spooky action at a distance” that has impact upon what we all think.

Why give primacy to the bouton?  Cajal tells us why.  The bouton is the contiguous gate.  All other elements, viewed from the perspective of the bouton, are continuous.  This makes the bouton very special.  It makes the bouton the atom of mind.

The idea of a bouton is what we scientists call “a useful generalization.”  It is not completely true, in all that we attribute to it, from all perspectives.  It is just a really useful concept to understand and further our objective.

If you think about and understand a bouton, and how they quad ideated, then you become smarter.  That’s the practical goal of Cognitive Science.  BI insight makes you smarter because you are more integrated on the right point for you.
